The Dragon by Vale Lovette
«In Western culture, the dragon is one of the faces of evil, a herald of death and destruction. My representation of this creature was inspired by the climbing dragons which decorate the front gate of Torino’s “House of Dragons” or “Palace of Victories”. In my mind, these dragons represent the dark presence living within, whom I represented as a female figure, the protagonist of several esoteric legends that have been attributed to this building. This woman holds a calla lily in her right hand. This flower is a symbol of purity and innocence, and is used to remember a person who passed away prematurely. In her left hand she holds a candle, which represents humans.» by Vale Lovette
